Former NM Gov. & Pres. Candidate Gary Johnson Calls WA’s Rec. Cannabis Law “Worst-Case Scenario”

“They have screwed it up as bad as they possibly can.”

Former Presidential candidate and two-term New Mexico Governor, Gary Johnson, spoke some refreshing common sense about Washington State’s messy recreational cannabis legalization in an interview with The Oregonian. He understands the difference between the ability to test for the presence of cannabinoids & actual impairment, the latter of which currently cannot be proven. Then he goes on to call-out the paranoia about kids eating edibles as “baloney” and says parents should be responsible about storage. Johnson realizes that the tax in WA is excessive and the recreational market won’t see the majority of their potential business from customers who have always existed in the illicit underground. We need more sensible politicians who recognize that over-regulation & exorbitant taxes are just another form of prohibition.
